This site is dedicated to my late grandparents: George and Viola Bauman & Henry and Ethel Evans. I hope as they look across from the other side this site will make them proud.
The reason I named this site as I did is because my grandfather, Henry Evans, had the most wonderful green thumb of anyone I have ever known! His gardens were glorious to say the least! Whenever I think about and reflect on the days and the times that I spent with my grandparents, it always makes me smile!
Please visit my Grandparents Tribute Page to see pictures and read my dedications.
Come on in! Relax--set a spell--have some tea and homemade cookies and please enjoy visiting my website!
My name is Jan. I began painting in September 1999 with the One Stroke method of dressing the brush--as developed by Donna Dewberry. This method helped to develop my confidence and to encourage me to learn something that I had always wanted to do but never had the courage to even attempt. Although I still enjoy doing One Stroke, I have branched out to learn the more traditional tole painting styles.
I have recently decided that I will my hand a try at using oil paints! I am going to be experimenting with Genesis Heat-Set Oils! This should prove very interesting! Stand by for pictures of my first attempt with Genesis.
Until recently, I have been placing my hand painted items on consignment. Consignment has never proven to be highly successful for me. My last consignment agreement was a nightmare to say the least. I was considering opening my own web-based business, but have decided against doing that. I will no longer be painting for profit. I will be painting simply because it is something I want to do!
One of my dreams is to be able to paint realistic, life-like animals. I am especially partial to big cats such as tigers and lions.
In addition to my family, my animal companions and my painting, my other interests include:
All designs are the copyrighted property of the original artist and/or designer. I make every attempt to give credit to the original artist/designer for each piece that I paint. If you should decide to take one of these designs and claim it as your own--you are on your own! Remember, I had no part in your dirty little money-grabbing, copyright- violating schemes. Enough said! God IS watching!
